Currently, the Cultural Museum of African Art (CMAA) is engaged in the meticulous electronic cataloging of Mr. Edwards’s extensive collection. This remarkable assemblage comprises masks, sculptures, paintings depicting African royalty and members of secret societies, spiritual and ritual masks, ancestral figures, weaponry, jewelry, ornamental pieces, reliquary objects, musical instruments, fetish items, tools, utensils, and an extensive vinyl record collection. This comprehensive cataloging effort is shaping the foundation of one of the most inclusive and wide-ranging archives dedicated to African and African-American cultural artifacts.
The digitization of this collection serves as the cornerstone for the creation of a groundbreaking 3-Dimensional, 360-degree virtual reality immersive tour of the CMAA’s physical site.
