Building on a Growing Vision

---

By 2002, the vision behind the Cultural Museum of African Art continued to develop, building on an effort to preserve and share the richness of African art and culture.

CMAA’s history is more than a collection of dates. It is the story of a growing commitment to African heritage, cultural understanding, and the belief that African art has an important place in the history of humanity.

The year 2002 represents another point in that history, connecting the Museum’s earlier development with the chapters that would follow.

2002 — another step in the continuing story of CMAA.
