Mr. Edwards

The Executive Director

Greetings,

It is with immense pleasure and excitement that I share with you a groundbreaking initiative at the Cultural Museum of African Art. My name is Dr. Eric Edwards, and I am honored to serve as the Director of this institution, where our commitment to preserving and celebrating African heritage knows no bounds.

In my journey, I have had the privilege of amassing a collection that goes beyond the conventional, encapsulating the essence of African and African-American culture. From masks and sculptures to paintings of African royalty, each artifact within our walls narrates a story, a testament to the richness and diversity of our shared history.

In a bold step towards innovation and accessibility, we are embarking on a transformative project— the “Spirits Speak VR Tour.” This pioneering experience will utilize electronic data capture to create a 3-Dimensional, 360-degree virtual reality immersion of the Cultural Museum of African Art. Every artifact, from spiritual and ritual masks to ancestral figures, will come to life in a way never seen before.

This tour will be a journey into the heart of African art, a fusion of history, technology, and the resonance of vinyl music. As you explore the artifacts, the virtual tour will be accompanied by a recitation of the historical significance of each piece, complemented by a score carefully selected from my vast vinyl collection.

The “Spirits Speak VR Tour” is not just an immersive experience; it is a pioneering venture, the first of its kind in the realm of African Art. Our goal is to transcend physical boundaries and make the wealth of our collection accessible to a global audience.

Join us on this extraordinary expedition as we unveil a new chapter in the world of cultural exploration. The Spirits are ready to speak, and we invite you to be a part of this historic dialogue.

Warm regards,

Eric Edwards
